The company, located in New York City, was founded in 1872 by W.J. Tingue and Charles W. House. They were importers and suppliers of mohair, genapppe, worsted, cotton and spun silk yarns and noils for cassimeres, coatings, dress goods, flannels, etc. They also imported camel's hair noils.
